This chemical- and filler-free blend is for southern climates but does offer some cold resistance compared to other common forage varieties. University trials have shown that it’s capable of producing over 10,000 lbs./acre.

Forage Oats can be planted in August and September for grazing during bow season. Once plants emerge, they also respond very well to high-nitrogen fertilizers like ammonium nitrate (34-0-0). Southern food plots will last all winter, but oat food plots north of Tennessee or at high elevations will most likely freeze out.

Plant PlotSpike Forage Oats at 100 lbs. of seed per acre. Apply at least 300 lbs. of 13-13-13 or equivalent at planting.
