The bead blasted powder coated finish on the head will protect against rust, and gives a uniform appearance for the product line. Proper care will significantly prolong the handle’s life. Our handles are linseed oil finished for long term protection. Maintain and protect the handle with a proper wood finish for long term protection.\n- HAMMERED FINISH PREMIUM GRADE GERMAN C50 CARBON STEEL HEAD - A unique finish that creates an uneven surface texture, and protects the steel from rust and corrosion - Heat treated and oil hardened - Self sharpening blade edge. The steel blank is heated to approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. An indentation is pressed into the blank from both sides, while the steel is soft and glowing orange hot. The steel is rolled in multiple stages, which is strengthening the steel and increasing density.\n- HANDLE - FSC Certified German Ash - Straight shaft - Knob grip - Individually selected for grain orientation and density - 150 grit smooth sanded - Linseed oil finish. Our saw mill cuts the Ash logs into planks, which are then stored and softly air dried for 9 to 10 months, depending on the weather in Northern Europe that season. Our proprietary drying process will bring the wood's moisture content down to a precise level, before the wood is ready to be made into handles.\n- SPECIFICATIONS - Head Width: 10 in. - Total Length: 15 ½ in. - Total Weight: 2 lb. Carbon steel is susceptible to rusting over time. Rust can be prevented by keeping the steel head oiled.
